Business Summary

New Era Industries, Inc. (NEI) is a North Carolina sub-chapter S corporation formed to commercialize proprietary technologies and processes utilizing polymer technologies that have been developed by Professor Hota Gangarao. These polymer products were invented, designed, and developed by Dr. Hota, the world’s leading scientist in the polymer field, and have many unique qualities and properties that are recognized to be ideal solutions and novel device applications in many industries. The professor/scientist who invented the polymer products and formula holds numerous patents, and is the recipient of several prestigious awards and honors.

Operating under a license and royalty agreement, NEI markets various polymer products, which have been pre-tested to the point of being market ready, for use in the military, transportation, infrastructure, construction, nautical, energy conservation, and clean energy industries.

In addition to these products, New Era assists in “community development” planning, design and “turn key” construction. Such efforts are targeted at affordable development of homes and community support programs as well as new home development done in association with job creation and business development efforts.

New Era realizes that many partners would be in the need of technical support and assistance in elevating their plan to operational status as well make continuous product refinements and perpetually market products and properties. Such support is normally an additional cost item and highly paid consultants are available to assist and direct these activities. Our company realizes these activities are key to success and longevity and the service needs to be a part of any development activity.

Company Support and Capabilities

It was determined that New Era would develop a company strategy that would offer not only a development assistance effort, but also a continuing, long term support system to participating companies to guarantee their success. This approach would include all administrative support systems (sales, service, marketing, research, further development, etc.) to create an environment that is specifically focused on success of the core products developed. The intended impact is to some degree fundamental, but certainly is intended to strengthen the overall structure of the companies involved and provide continued support throughout the life of the participating companies. The support activities normally would occur as follows:

1. Business planning:

 Of course, the core of prolonged success has been the business plan. Unfortunately, that planning effort has become a necessity for finance rather than a plan to create a positive outcome. NEI will do individual business planning for each company and/or product to be developed. The staff will help develop and review that plan with the intent and understanding that, before financing is obtained and agreements are signed, the plan must be as “tight” as possible. Changes, reductions or expansions, and certainly additions may be required. The goal is to create a system where the individual companies are intertwined to create financial savings while insuring autonomy.

2. Marketing strategy:

 The plan for the growth of this collaborative of companies is done in such a manner as to allow for some economies of scale for all administrative efforts. Although marketing will certainly be an individual effort based on product specifics, the methods will be similar. A typical plan will include the following:

  • Periodic Publication: At approximately three (3) months after the product has been prepared for manufacturing, a product specific publication development will begin. This publication, developed in single product style, will address the product line and the product attributes. It will be geared toward the professionals and engineers who might make or have input into purchasing decisions. A mailing list will be developed for all possible customers at least within a five hundred (500) mile radius of the manufacturing location and will be mailed on a quarterly basis.

  • Product Presentation Materials: Product presentation materials will be developed. High quality printed materials will be used as well as power point presentations, and videos will also be produced for each of the products developed.

  • Geographic Target Marketing: At this early stage of development it is felt that a very specific target marketing effort should be undertaken. The existing product line will have a potentially customer base, therefore a very specific approach will be used. The company and NEI will develop potential end user lists and access their contact information to be used for the publication and follow up efforts.

  • Website Development: A website will be developed that will introduce all the products that are under full production. In addition, a FaceBook presence will be created. Staff will create a “boost” effort that will clearly target potential buyers and interested parties. All information will be updated, changed and enhanced regularly for the greatest possible Impact.

  • Trade Show Presence: Staff will interact with agencies nationally that routinely sponsor trade shows that focus on new product development and inventions (such as INPEX). On an annual basis, the company will attend and display at this shows and highlight all the products we represent.

3. Technical Support:

 An effort such as this often includes actual construction as well as manufacturing methodology. A typical plan will include the following:

  • Design and Construction Management: If new construction or renovation is required, New Era staff are prepared to lead the effort. Architectural design, construction management and site planning requires the highest level of staff support and that is guaranteed. Ownership would be involved in all planning and design efforts and interaction with local political sub-divisions.

  • Manufacturing Methodology: With every product that New Era represents, the creator/inventor is personally involved in this final stage of getting the product commercialized. Manufacturing technics, line design and productivity issues will all be addressed to insure the highest level of efficiencies.

4. Quarterly Visitation:

 Administrative, area coordinating staff and technical personnel will practice a routine visitation schedule with all NEI related companies. Coordination staff will visit the company site at least quarterly to check for problems, concerns and potential product expansion possibilities. Administrative staff will visit at least twice per year to meet with management to review problematic issues and track fiscal concerns. Technical personnel will review quality control and offer suggestions for product improvements and refinements.

Management Team:

NEI has assembled a team of specialists in management, finance, production, sales, construction and marketing, supplemented by industry experts. The team was established to create support for collaborating companies, both paid through contract and un-paid, to support the effort to manufacture and sell their products. Our goal in assembling the team was to maximize the strengths of each team member. We have developed a conglomerative summery of staff background and capability. Company attributes are as follows:

Administration and Business Development:

 New Era has more than 122 years of administrative and business ownership experience. Staff have international experience and recognition supervising over 1,000 professional staff at multiple locations, fiscal management of multi-million-dollar budgets as well as compliance required operations in numerous states. In addition, experience includes assisting with start-up companies and struggling companies. The companies experience includes complete, successful business plan development up to and including operational funding; construction funding; staff development, hiring and procedural creation; lender and “grantor” liaison activities and political support activities.

Marketing and Product Development:

 New Era has more than 50 years of marketing experience. Experience includes international consulting for marketing (South Africa), innovative product marketing, and all forms of direct marketing efforts including: press and media efforts, direct-mail, video and audio tape production, e-mail advertising and trade magazine “advertorial style” publications. Experience includes design efforts for corporate branding, logos, slogans, themes and development of target marketing campaigns. Equally as important, experience includes working with all forms of public and private media and all forms of inside and outside consultative sales of high tech business solutions with both private and public clientele.

Grant Development and Funding Coordination:

 NEI staff have more than 75 years of experience in all forms of grant writing and funding solution development for both the private and public sector. Efforts have garnered grant awards in excess of $250,000,000 through all staff efforts. Such efforts include long stating relationships with groups such as Departments of Housing and Community Development, the Federal Home Loan Bank, HUD several local and regional lending institutions and local, state and nationally elected representatives. Staff members hold recognitions and appointed, impact positions such as: Indiana Project of the Year / local Community Planning Boards / Regional Planning Board membership / state level Community Development Boards of Directors.

Construction Planning and Implementation:

 NEI staff have more than 55 years of experience in all forms of the construction field. Experience includes the “ground up” completion of building activities in multiple locations throughout the world, totally more than a billion dollars of construction cost. Staff are adept at the full planning activities required as well as the state and local liaison activities required with governmental planning organizations. Further, the access and organization of the needed trades to complete any level of construction has been a routine effort over these 55 years. New Era provides “in house” construction inspection throughout the construction process. Staff members hold masters level Architectural degrees / registered professional Architect status / NCARB certification / membership in the American Institute of Architecture / HUD Certified Property Management / designation as an administrator of HOME funds and past certification as a CHDO.

Technical Assistance:

 NEI staff have in excess of 30 years’ experience in a number of areas of technical assistance. Uniquely, New Era offers visits and interacts with the actual developers and inventors of the polymer products. Routinely, visits will occur, and interaction will take place with clients to address any issues that have arisen, help create higher levels of efficiency and provide suggestions to further improve the product. In the product production area, staff have experience in planning of production cycles, timing and staffing that lead to the highest level of productivity. Further, there will be periodic “product improvement” efforts to keep up with industry trends. Technical assistance is available through the product inventor as well as his affiliation with the “CICI” an international group funded by the National Science Foundation and further described as a separate attachment.
